Connect the cities of Paul’s Greek ministry with the archaeological landscapes of western Türkiye, exploring how local communities lived within the Roman world.
- Route: Thessaloniki → Philippi → Berea → Meteora → Delphi → Athens → Corinth → Izmir → Pergamum → Sardis → Pamukkale → Ephesus → Miletus → Izmir
- Tour Focus: Paul’s journeys, early Christian communities, and classical archaeology
Important Historical and Biblical Context
Acts 16–18 connects Philippi, Thessaloniki, Athens and Corinth with Paul’s journeys. Archaeological remains reveal the wider Roman world of these communities; places commemorating Lydia’s baptism and Paul’s imprisonment should be understood as traditional memorial sites. Western Türkiye adds several communities addressed in Revelation. Berea is distinct from Vergina, the location of the Macedonian royal tombs; this route focuses on Berea.
