Discover Cappadocia’s painted churches, sculpted valleys and living craft traditions on a guided day trip. From the frescoes of Göreme to the fairy chimneys of Paşabağ, this journey offers an inviting introduction to the region’s culture and landscape.
Tour Overview
Combine Cappadocia’s best-known cultural sights with panoramic stops and a visit to Avanos, where pottery remains part of local life. This one-day tour from Istanbul or Izmir brings together the region’s painted churches, distinctive rock formations and living craft traditions.
Your guide will introduce the fourth-century Cappadocian Fathers: Basil the Great, whose teaching shaped communal monastic life; Gregory of Nazianzus, known for his Trinitarian theology; and Gregory of Nyssa, whose writings explored Scripture and spiritual growth. Their regional legacy helps illuminate the later Byzantine churches you visit, without identifying these sites as their documented homes.
